Taking care of the horses & land entrusted to us
Sunnyfield Farm LLC., is an all-breeds horse boarding facility providing exceptional care at affordable prices. The stable operates on fifty rolling acres in the Colorado Foothills just a few miles north of Boulder. Visitors are always welcome. Please contact us (by phone or e-mail) to arrange a tour of the facility or to discuss your individual needs. Sunnyfields is close to Boulder ... close to perfect.
A regular daily routine is of utmost importance to the health and comfort of our horses. They are fed at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day. They eat high quality hay. We are happy to feed grain add your supplements or medications to grain rations as required. All horses have access to salt blocks. We do not use automatic waterers because we think it is important to monitor water intake individually. Water buckets are cleaned as needed, but at least twice a week. Stalls are thoroughly cleaned six days a week. We use kiln-dried wood shavings for bedding.
Horses are provided turn-out daily. We have six large paddocks for turn-out individually or, if desired, in pairs. We can apply boots, fly masks, sheets, or natural fly spray for turn-out as needed. We will blanket and unblanket your horse as you desire.
The care and comfort of our horses is truly our utmost concern. We really do provide tender loving care to all of the horses lucky enough to call Sunnyfields home. Come out and meet our horses.
Because Sunnyfields is home to all breeds and disciplines, there is no competition among boarders. We are home to a really great group of people involved in stock seat showing, pleasure and trail riding, saddle seat competitions, hunters and jumpers, endurance riding, and dressage. Our facility is never closed to our boarders. Once you become a member of our family, you are welcome at the barn whenever you want to visit your horse, we do close barn doors for the night at 9:30 pm
The facility features fully renovated main barn. Numerous skylights keep the facility bright all day. Large doors provide great ventilation during good weather. The perimeter of the property is fenced for safety and security. The 10 stall main barn and indoor arena are located under one roof. During inclement weather, you can stay warm and dry from the time you enter the facility.
Sunnyfields has a lighted indoor arena. In addition to being able to ride during the winter months and during rain showers, the shade of the indoor arena is very welcome in the hot summer months.
Sunnyfields has a round pen, an outdoor dressage arena and a fenced outdoor arena which can be used for work on the flat or jumping. We have also incorporated several natural jumps on the perimeters of the farm. The arenas are never closed to our boarders during lessons or clinics. Both arenas are large enough for several horses to be ridden at the same time.
Sunnyfields has 2 Grooming Stalls. These individual stalls are provided for grooming and saddling horses. This eliminates the need to cross-tie horses in the aisle. The grooming stalls have electric outlets for clippers. The locked tack room has individual cabinets for each boarder and plenty of room for saddles and tack.
The indoor wash stall has running water and lights. A modern restroom, with shower and individual lockers is located on the premises for boarders.
We have approximately 40 acres available for pasture boarding. Mares and geldings live together in the pasture. They have fresh water and salt available at all times. We provide good quality grass hay at all times during the winter months. Our pasture boarders enjoy complete use of the facilities. A third boarding option at Sunnyfields is the Horse Condo. We have 8 small individual Horse Condos located above the main barn. Each Horse Condo faces West to East and has an individual run.
Much of the property is open and available for riding outside of the arenas. There is a small irrigation creek where you can teach your horse to cross water or just cool off on a hot summer day.
